“City for all - Breaking unseen barriers for a cohesive society”
The Edge is a attempt to bring a sense of IDENTITY to the unheard fishermen community and create a cohesive environment that weaves together the diverse voices of the urban fabric and the labor class. The project aims at developing a multifaceted connection between coastal morphology, human activity and urban development, and significantly impact the fishermen communities. The city shares a dynamic and evolving relationship with the shoreline and the diverse ethnic communities that inhabit the region. However, prevailing planning strategies for the coastal stretch frequently disregard this vital connection, prioritizing commercial and recreational developments that cater predominantly to urban dwellers. As a result, traditional fishing communities are often displaced or marginalized, severing their historical and cultural ties to the shore. This project thus advocates for a more balanced, inclusive approach — one that respects the identity of all shoreline stakeholders, safeguards cultural heritage, and promotes equitable access to coastal resources. By reimagining the edge not as a boundary, but as a shared space of interaction and coexistence, the project aspires to contribute to a more just and resilient urban future
